Sri Lanka is a beautiful island full of diversity – Buddhist, Hindu, and Muslim culture, national parks with wild elephants, stunning beaches with surf spots, and colorful coral reefs – all this and much more is waiting for you here.
If you have a heart for animals, you are warmly invited to visit our shelters or support us as a volunteer.
Our small shelter in Balapetiya is currently home to 6 dogs and 17 cats. Here, volunteers live together with me (the founder) and help with walking the dogs, feeding, bathing, cleaning, or caring for the cats. Support with photos, videos, and social media is also very welcome.
Once a month, I travel to our big shelter in Trincomalee/Nilaveli, where more than 150 dogs live. For this location, we are urgently looking for long-term volunteers who are ready to take responsibility and actively help with the daily care and activities.
The volunteer house is about 20 minutes away from the shelter and offers simple but cozy accommodation – with a shared kitchen, bathroom, and single and double rooms.
In Balapetiya, we provide lovingly furnished volunteer rooms in a peaceful area, just 10 minutes from the beach – close to a small surf school and a turtle rescue center.
Volunteers usually help 4–5 hours a day, five days a week, leaving enough free time to explore the surroundings and enjoy life on this beautiful island.
If you fall in love with an animal during your visit to our animal shelter, there is also the possibility of adopting it and taking it home with you. We will be happy to help you with the organisation.
