Our shelter is located on the east coast of Sri Lanka, near Trincomalee. We shelter dogs and cats that would not survive on their own on the street or are sick. We also feed and treat animals on the street and regularly neuter a large number of dogs and cats. Making owners aware of their animal’s needs, educating them, offering them free neutering is as much a part of our job as teaching children about animal welfare.

We are looking for dedicated people to join our team at Conny’s Dogs Rescue Shelter in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka!
Has it always been your dream to work in animal welfare – to rescue, care for, and make the world a little better for animals?
Are you adventurous, resilient, and ready to live abroad for a while? Then this might be the perfect opportunity for you!
Tasks:
Everything that comes with caring for dogs! This includes walking, bathing, feeding, administering medication (as instructed), cleaning quarantine areas, and occasionally taking animals to the vet.
Working hours:
Part-time or full-time – depending on your availability and the needs on site.
Requirements:
– Valid driver’s license (to ride a scooter)
– A big heart for dogs and enjoyment of hands-on work
– Willingness to get dirty
– Emotional stability
– Veterinary knowledge is welcome but not required

We are also looking for long-term volunteers (minimum 6 months) who would like to dive deeper into daily shelter life, take on more responsibility, and become part of our dedicated team.
